Running AutoSSL Print

  • 140

AutoSSL is a feature provided by cPanel allowing any domains/subdomains hosted within your hosting service with us to be automatically covered by an SSL certificate.

cPanels AutoSSL certificate can only be applied to any domains that are pointed towards the cPanel hosting service either via nameservers or an A record.

The certificates are provided to cPanel by the vendor Comodo and are Domain Validated(DV) certificates.

To run AutoSSL on your service, first log into your cPanel service.

  1. Head to “SSL/TLS Status” under the Security tab or search for it  in the search bar
  2. Click “Run AutoSSL”.

The process of applying a certificate can take 5-10 minutes to complete.

If AutoSSL fails to run, please make sure that the domain name you are looking to secure is pointed towards our servers.
You can check this using a DNS checker tool such as whatsmydns.net

Alternatively, if you have a SSL certificate already installed you can follow this guide to remove the certificate and run AutoSSL.

If you run into any issues running AutoSSL, you can look at this guide to further troubleshoot any SSL issues you may be facing or feel free to get in touch with us via a ticket or over LiveChat and we will be happy to Help!
